• Residence Ambassador Program Application and Agreement

  • Thank you for applying! We are currently only accepting applications for O'Neil/ Ridley rooms that are available on Monday, Friday and Saturday, as well as Burnlea rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Please apply below if you fit this criteria!

     

    Regular campus tours run Monday-Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM and 2:00 - 3:00 PM. However, off-schedule tours do happen occasionally so rooms must be prepared for tours on your assigned day. Note - we do not always have tours scheduled everyday, but you must be prepared for a tour to come on any of the days that you are assigned. You do NOT have to be in your room during tour times. If you're in your room at that time you can speak to your Huron experience. If you're not in your room, student ambassadors will leave no trace of being there and will ensure your door is locked when they depart.

  • Roommate/ Suitemate Information

    Once you have submitted this section, your roommate/ suitemate must complete the form they are sent to give their consent to have campus tour groups visit their common space. Only after your roommate/ suitemates have completed their portion will you be considered for the program. You will be sent a confirmation email once your roommate/ suitemate has given their consent. If you do not have your roommate's email address, please leave that section blank and we will complete it.

  • REGULAR TOURS

    Based on your class schedule, please select all days that work best to show your room (select all that apply). Regular tours begin on October 5, 2026 and run Monday-Saturday at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. However, off-schedule tours do happen occasionally so rooms must be prepared for tours on your assigned day. Note - we do not always have tours scheduled every day, but we want to be prepared! You do NOT need to be in your room during the tour times - you just need to ensure your room is tidy and presentable. If you're in your room at that time you can speak to your Huron experience. If you're not in your room, we'll leave no trace of being there!

    Below are dates we are running special events and will require residence rooms to be available for tours. Please confirm you will have your room open for these days. Please note that these are the CURRENT days that we have scheduled and that more campus visits will be planned throughout the year.

  • RESIDENCE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    Please review each section below and acknowledge.
    • 1. Voluntary Participation 

    • Huron’s Residence Ambassador Program is a volunteer program that enables current Huron students living in residence to have their room available to be shown on campus tours, and when in their room during a visit, to speak positively with prospective students, parents, and teachers about their experience in choosing and attending Huron University.

      While guests are on a campus tour in the resident’s room, the Ambassador is a representative of Huron and is thus responsible for upholding the utmost professionalism while demonstrating the mission and values of Huron.

      The Participant acknowledges and agrees to have their room be made available for campus tours until April 2027. A schedule will be provided in both the Fall and Winter Terms. The Participant acknowledges and agrees that they will act as a representative of Huron University while their room is being shown to any prospective students, their families, or any guests. The Participant acknowledges and agrees that his or her participation in the Residence Ambassador Program is voluntary and upon his or her own initiative, risk and responsibility.

      Upon completion of the program in April 2027, Residence Ambassadors will receive a gift card to the Bookstore, as well as a letter of reference in appreciation for their involvement, if requested.

    • 2. Guidelines 

    • I agree to follow the below guidelines of this volunteer position and will abide by them while participating in the Residence Ambassador Program organized by the Admissions and Recruitment Office:

      Say “I don’t know” rather than giving a wrong answer. Answer ANY admissions related questions, averages, requirements, etc.
      Share personal stories and experiences but make sure they are suitable for all audiences Talk about alcohol, partying, or any other unsanctioned social events
      Ensure your room is clean and tidy on your designated tour day(s). Have any visible alcohol, other taboo substances/items, or offensive/inappropriate decor displayed in your room.
      Use language that is appropriate and professional Use acronyms (ex. SAC, UCC) – Guests don’t understand the acronyms and thus this language is not inclusive
      Be honest in answering questions, but try to always point out the positive side Rate professors or courses
      Act as an ambassador of Huron Compare Huron to other institutions, or slander, dismiss, or denigrate another university/college
    • 3. Campus Tours 

    • The Ambassador additionally agrees to permit campus tour guides to access their residence room during organized tours on the agreed upon dates. A schedule will be provided in both the Fall and Winter Terms. The Ambassador also agrees to have their room open for Fall and Spring Open Houses (Sunday, November 8, 2026 and Saturday, April 3, 2027).

      If the Ambassador is occupying their room during the tour, the campus tour guide will ask them to speak about their Huron experience – and the above guidelines apply. If the Ambassador is not present, the campus tour guide will ensure the guests leave the room the way it was found and that the door is locked upon exiting.

      If the Ambassador is unable to show their room on a scheduled day, they must notify Melanie, Coordinator of Recruitment Events, at melanie.vandenborre@huron.uwo.ca as soon as possible and provide a brief reason for the cancellation (e.g., illness, academic commitment, personal emergency). Notice should be given at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible. This helps us maintain professionalism with prospective students and ensures transparency for scheduling purposes. Repeated cancellations without sufficient reason may impact the Ambassador’s continued participation in the program.

      If the residence ambassador has a roommate, or suitemates, they will be required to sign a contract agreeing to have their shared space made available.

    • 4. Removal from the Program 

    • If an Ambassador’s room is deemed inappropriate for a campus tour, they will be given written notice with the reason outlined and a follow-up inspection will be required before another tour group is brought to their room. Upon three written notices, the Ambassador will be removed from the program and will not be afforded any of the benefits/privileges of the program.
